Bansi and Girdhar even-though were friends and working in a safe manufacturing company their way of thinking was entirely different. Bansi (Sheikh Mukhtar) was honest and God-loving and Girdhar (Uma Dutt) was the type who could do anything dishonest for the sake of Money.

Girdhar wanted to become wealthy overnight for which he found the only way to persuade Bansi who was the in-charge of the duplicate key department of the safe manufacturing company to misuse the duplicate keys so that he can start looting. But his attempts to this end were unfruitful because honest Bansi never agreed. Hence these two friends turn into enemies. The more Bansi wanted to remain as honest the more the crisis was around him. One day he too decides to become a rich man and comes to the conclusion that he will steal the impression of the duplicate keys and give the same to Girdhar. Laxmi, the wife of Bansi could not tolerate her husband to go for dishonest things and because of the shock, she collapsed and died. Bansi comes out of the factory with the impression of the duplicate keys on wax, hiding the same inside the frame of Moorti which he always used to carry out of love of God. Girdhar who comes to know about this kidnaps the daughter of Bansi and tells Bansi unless and until he gives the key impression of Girdhar he will not give back the girl to Bansi. Bansi was compelled to give the impression of Girdhar. Still, Girdhar did not part with the girl to keep Bansi quiet over the fraud. Police were after Bansi.

Girdhar looted Anathasram with one of the keys supplied by Bansi. Bansi reaches there to stop looting. But too late, Baba of Anathasram dies. Bansi promises Baba that he will bring back all the money which were belonging to the children of the Anathasram. Thus he changes from Bansi to "BIRJU USTAD".

Whether Bansi could get back all the money from Girdhar, and whether he could get back his daughter from him should be seen on the SCREEN.
